How do you go about notching for your pipes. I have seen one big notch with all 4 pipes in before. Or do you tend to do separate notches?

Google rules for notching joists. It depends on the span and the thickness of the joist to determine where, how wide and how deep you can notch

I'd love to see people doing a new build in full copper.
I joist/block and beam etc where you can't notch!!!!
@newgasinstaller, sorry people it just doesn't happen now days.
Full plastic with 10mm drops.

Last couple of new builds I've worked on employed these...

Put pipes where you like... Including 4" soil!

Always fun trying to push 3m lengths of 4inch soil around when the house walls are fully built so you've got only access from inside.

No it's not a good idea and you need a pad of hair felt under each pipe. Hope you've got those air bags downstairs as you walk about on open joists

As TCC mentions, go on a hunt for notching and drilling joists, both operations need to be specific according to joist depth and length. Doubtful you'd be able to get them all in one notch.
