Hi,
Well, Saturday morning, boiler service and it turns out that the guy says is in bad condition and it is not safe to use... gives us a price of £300 for repairing because needs to take out the burner, bla,bla... so, as it is 11 years old, he recommends a new one, Combi LOGIC, all done for £1500. Does it sound good?

Thank you.

Checking and cleaning burner is part of a normal service.
Get a second opinion may be he's short of work

Apparently there is an insulation panel missing and the others are cracked around the burner so it needs to replace the whole thing which will be about 3 hours job, besides he has already replaced a condensation trap, so £300 (roughly) would be everything.

That still sounds pretty expensive to me.

Insulation panels are usually about £12 each for four.

I think he is short of work.

His installation cost sounds more than mine and I am not cheap.

Tony

How much would you charge to install a new combi boiler then?
I guess depends on the make but roughly...?

Keep the baxi or if you change it change it for the baxi duotec (7 year g`tee) it fits straight onto your existing jig no pipe alteration required except to the condense pipe . flue hole needs a slight alteration mornings work at most

I can do you an ideal procombi 24 fitted for 1200 or a 30kw for 1300.

But get yours repaired if it is only 300 notes...
