Ive just had a new Grant outside vortex combi boiler fitted. It fires up and teh hot water pump runs butt the recirculting pump runs for about a second then stops. Then, of course the whole thing trips out. The pipes upto the circulting pump are hot. Does anyone hve a solution please?

he's gone off scratching his head to ask a mate. It seems to me like something amiss in the boiler.

When you say the whole thing trips out what do you mean, The burner or limit stat?
Are both auto air vents on top of the boiler open??

I think its the overheat stat that cuts out the burner. The pipes get very hot upstrem of the pump. Even if it was air locked the pump should still run shouldn't it?

Can't understand installers like this 'going off and scratching his head'

It's under warranty FCS get him to call Grant out

I have heard about a problem on these new grant condensing boiler's from a fellow workmate. He mentioned something about the design of the boiler, and positioning of the air vent which made removing a small pocket of air, which is trapped in a small section of pipework very stubborn!

Sorry i cant be more help than that, if i can find out more exact info i will post.

Cheers, Sam

Thanks for your help. I just want to make sure I've exhausted every possibility before getting back to Grants. Any more suggestions would be gratefully received.
