Local company engaged to renew shabby decking, asked for and got quote to remove old boards and replace with new, large area of rear garden decking and also continued around side of house.
However, he laid new boards OVER the old ones, and a quick google says this will cause accelerated rotting and is not a good idea.
I challenged the work and had this reply,
Quote, 'That was the original plan but having taken a few boards up the base structure was not built in the best way and did not feel comfortable simply just replacing the boards. However the existing panels were rubbed down dry and new panels secured on top so there should be no problems as I take each job in a professional manner'
So do you think I've been screwed?
