No the screws seize up in the plugs
seen this offer and considering buying it. But seems like rhe combi drill has a plastic chuck.
Anyone had something similar? Is it worth the price or stay clear?

Don't get to hooked up with what you buy now, as long as it will function for the next couple of years, then you are on your way, just pick a decent brand.
Metal chucks are not very common on cordless combi drills.
My Metabo has one, but drill, charger, box and battery is £300.

TBH, I initially purchased it because the top RPM is 4,000. At the time I needed a faster cordless to work with my Souber door lock morticer.
How have you found the Metabo works under load when using the Souber. Is it significantly better than an 18 volt cordless running at 2000 rpm?Metal chucks are not very common on cordless combi drills.

TBH, when I first purchased the Souber, I was using an old 705W corded Metabo drill but the body is about a foot long and I found it difficult to hold the drill and move the Souber mechanism up and down. I have weak wrists .
The cordless Metabo and 5.2 Amp battery weigh about 5kg, but it is easier to hold/control.
I hadn't tried a lower RPM cordless.
In the Souber promotional video the guy uses (from memory) a short DIY corded green Bosch machine. It evidentially does the job.
Battery wise, I can do three locks with my drill. Chipboard cores. Then need to recharge the battery. I paid about £300 for the drill, battery and charger. But I only purchased one 5.2amp battery.
On reflection, I think I should have purchased a light cheapo corded drill. My work is domestic.
On the upside, the Metabo has a function called Impulse. In that mode, when drilling in to metal the drill bit stutters. You, in theory, don't need to use a punch first. I have only used it a couple of times with mild steel, but yeah, the hole was where I expected it to end up.

You don't want a corded drill .That would be a backwards step.
I might be exaggerating... having just checked, Tools4Trade say it is 4kg with the 5.2 amp battery.
