Hi All,

What are the regulations to roof construction on a new build? Should all new work have warm deck construction?

Are cold decks still permitted? Builder is cutting cost and doing cold deck construction, should I be concerned?

Thanks.

Warm and cold deck are differing methods of construction and not necessarily opposite ends of the financial spectrum.

Warm deck generally conforms to a simpler way of building, i.e. no need for complex venting etc, and this is why it is preferred.
Are we talking pitched or flat here?

Its a flat pitched roof Noseall..
Erm...?
Do you mean flat? If so, warm deck is preferred. A lot less to go wrong and easier for the builder. Only downside is deep fascias although this can be countered with clever detailing.
