HI All,

I need to replace my dormer flat roofs but I'm not sure which is the best option. I have been quoted reasonable price for both Fibreglass and a Fatra flat roof system which is a PVC stabilised single ply membrane. The single ply roofer suggests this is the best stuff out there as it wont crack like some fiberglass and the fiberglass roofer reckons you wont beat fiberglass and it will only crack if its not done properly. Does anyone have an independent view or any experience in this area?

Many thanks

All of the budget flat roof systems (epdm, single ply, felt, fibreglass etc) are much of a muchness really and will all last well and be reliable if workmanship is good.

There seems to be a few incidences of fibreglass roof problems with expansion but it does seem to be a very small proportion.

The metal seamed roof's are far superior in terms of reliability and longevity but they do cost considerably more of course.
