Bless my 80yr old Granddad, he does try his best but sometimes I just wish he would give me a call first.

Went up to his place today to see the family in general and to have a look at an issue with his mobility scooter.

I stumbled upon he had replaced the outside lantern light on one of his sheds with a 8.5W LED PIR flood light :) and had used the existing T&E cable with the flood lights round compression gland and had the cores of the T&E exposed and hanging out side the flood light!(n)

I of course corrected it straight away.

Also, the LED flood light (LivarnoLux brad IIRC) is supposedly double insulated which of course has no facility for an earth connection, but yet has a metal body where live wires enter. I'll take it it is double insulated through out.

Regards: Elliott

There are guys a quarter of his age, who could even begin to install an outside light …… they come here  good luck to him!
