New Forum How-To: Home Automation

Hi guys,

What do you think to a new main forum topic dedicated to Home Automation?

Due to the massive area that covers Electrics, Alarms, phones, Computer hardware and software etc, I think it may be benificial to add this to the main list?

I am only just starting to investigate it for myself and found that although there is a few shops which sell the kit there is few or no DIY basic or advanced guides or other forums.

Are there any experts among us willing to be a expert??

There is a home automation forum

it switches on at 10.30, goes off at 11.00 back on at 17:00 and off at 18:00, i can also make it appear if i press the button in my remote control.

Well, if you want to get technical about it!

What about TV aerial wiring, satellite wiring, wiring between the two, wiring sky to a second TV etc....

I agree with RF. There are thousands of people asking for help on forums about how to connect their TVs, DVDRs and Skybox or set top boxes.

Tt could be listed under the same thing as Home Automation as AV and TV stuff is more to do with that than Electrics and Bugular alarms is it not??

I would have thought Home Electronics would be a better title.

In the meantime AVforums is very good for camcorder and sat topics.
