I have a 3 bedroom semi and I want to build a carport or garage with electric doors and either a solid or polycarbonate roof. The side will be either the existing 6' fence or more likely some ply panels or shiplap plastic cladding and the rear will be made again from timbers or upvc cladding with a door into the back garden. I haven't really decided on the final materials to use.
Since this will be fixed to the side of my house and run up to the neighbours fence, what I want to know is whether I will need planning permission and/or building regulation involvement? Like I said, it will be a timber and possibly plastic structure aparp from the steel or composite doors
