new gas supply

You should expect £1000- 1500 which is why I said if you go in thinking 300quid.

But if the mains is the other side of the road then much more.

Without an estimate from Transco or whoever does the work in the area guessing will cause grief.

You need to decide who you want to buy the gas off, ie BG, Npower etc etc.

Contact them and they will arrange National Grid to do a quote. Minimum charge I believe is about £500, last price I heard about was £100/metre over this.

Got a mate wil do it for £200 quid on the side  gasacs he would have done yours for less than a grand

ive just had a quote for mine. gas is directly outside my house, coldesack(sp) so no road to be closed, im diggin my run of 2m, they are digging the 1m run on road, total cost, £282 inc. well pleased as i have a qutoe from 1998 that was £600, a standard charge back in the days apparantly.

I was quoted £41K. I now have an oil system.

You really need to get a quote from the gas transporter via your chosen supplier.

Any of our guesstimates on this forum are going to be wrong, wrong, wrong.

my rough price guide as stated was from a meter at the house on a terraced house. last one i did took me 5 hours and as such £300 is a fair price.

i'm sure we can all quote silly prices involving all types of related work.

" i live on one of the remote scotish islands, they quoted me £450000000000000"

Long story but due to circumstances was coming off a medium pressure main and as it was for a new assessment centre needed a VAT receipt. Doubt your mate would of done it for that with the main in the middle of the road and about 2.5m deep... :o

If you wanted gas main to your property from the street depending on wether there is already gas in the area. I would say your looking at about £4000. Just from my experience, but there is loads to take into account
