Hi
I am doing a whole house renovation. The heating is now oil via a rayburn/Aga, but the tank is very old and been condemned (rusting/not bunded etc). So looking at alternatives LPG has been mentioned. I have no experience of it except a friend has a car converted. Any help would be appreciated, so would any other alternatives. Pro's and Con's, running cost comparisons, good website to visit etc

The house in in a forest/remote in Norfolk, no gas although a gas mains runs <1/4 mile from the front door...go figure.

I don't have a south facing roof so with trees may not be best for solar?! Also I will have to rent out the house for 5 years or so to recoup some cost before I can move in so not solar?

Cheers

lpg Boiler install will be cheaper than oil.

LPG combi and 4 47kg bottles for about £1400 installed. Ok if the place
is fairly small.
You can convert over to a bulk tank but you'll then have to
pay the yearly rental.

Oil more expensive boiler a normal system boiler starting around £1300+. Then a tank on top it's going to cost about £2500 to start with.
