Hi

I did a lot of research, and the chap who helped check the kit I ordered (though him via a supplier) installed it all over the weekend.

We have:
1x https://www.hikvision.com/uk/produc...-sl/?subName=DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL+(C)+(Black)
1 https://www.hikvision.com/uk/produc...--rb-/?subName=DS-2CD2346G3D-IZ2UY/SL+(Black)
1x https://www.hikvision.com/uk/produc...686g3t-lizsu-y-/?subName=DS-2CD3686G3T-LIZSUY
3x https://www.hikvision.com/uk/produc...-2cd2h87g3-lizsy/?subName=DS-2CD2H87G3T-LIZSY
1x https://www.hikvision.com/uk/produc...Video-Recorders/Ultra-Series/ds-7608ni-m2-8p/

We thought it was a configuration issue; we have no audio on playback and recording for the turrets and bullet. We have audio on the two dual cameras.

Aparantyly hik have said that they dont have audio on them!? Can anyone confirm whether this is correct or not? All show the audio icon, and specs say they have mono audio.

Thanks

If the spec says it has a microphone and it doesn’t, then either the spec is wrong and that’s a trade description issue for which you would need to take advice.

This assumes of course that the camera is the model you purchased, did HIK look at the camera details, or respond to what you told them they had?

U indicates built in Microphone, S indicates audio capable but needs a microphone attaching.

So:

Need a Microphone, if I remember the letters correctly.

hmm sounds like someone didn’t know the specs or how to setup the cameras.

To record audio and video, you need to select this option in menus when setting up.

Recording audio, eaves dropping you have to be careful with, if it can pick up audio outside of your properties boundary

apparently it’s missing the audio according to

I would check the actual units delivered against what was ordered, and then claim item was miss sold if its the same product model and doesn't have the microphone, and wrong unit supplied if it isn't a match, but you would be taking that up with the person you bought from and them with their supplier.

You may want to take advice on how you should deal with this from say the CAB in the first instance.

The one I quoted from your list doesn't have a microphone of which you ordered 3 of but does have audio capability potentially.
The extra cables coming out of that unit should allow a microphone to be attached possibly.

Beyond the spec I cant comment .
I dont know what you ordered and what you had delivered and if it matches what you ordered.

For example I ordered the wrong speaker the other day an 8 Ohm one instead of a 16 Ohm one, a mistake I made because I read it was a speaker for a particular device, I would need 2 x 8 ohm speakers or 1 x16 ohm speaker both available for that device. The manufacturer delivered the correct speaker as far as the order was concerned but not the one I wanted/needed.

I cant comment on what Hikvision looked at and advised you on as I am not privy to that discussion.

Sorry i cant be of more help.

Sorry the one not in my list that I posted image of was from Hik confirming what is displayed for audio

I am lost, posting specs for equipment you dont have just confuses things.

If the model you ordered had a U in it it should have a built in microphone, only one product in your list didn't have a U, other than the M series NVR.

Yea that makes sense. The two duals with u work fine. The other 3 turrets and bullet do not.
Can’t seem to find any mics. Are these Hik or aftermarket?

Look at the manuals for the camera's with an S, they should have information on how to add a microphone, to be fair never added one.

1. because customers request would of been considered dodgy at best
2. because the cameras I tend to get cameras with it built in and then let the customer switch it on or off.

The more letters after the number the more options you tend to have with the leads on it.
So most IP cameras have POE and a 12V power connector, the rest are for all; sorts of things.

If the camera doesnt have the ability to add a microphone directly to it, then you would have to go back to the NVR potentially, or record the audio separately but starting to get more difficult to manage.

this shows the connection in one of the images but dont know how generic it is but looks bulky
