Hoping move house if all goes through.

It has a gravity HW system with pumped open vented CH (large and small tank in the loft). Potterton Profile boiler - 7 years old. RAVI valve adjacent to cylinder.

Never had gravity HW. Is it worth (i.e. cost effective) to upgrade to fully pumped system?

Potterton Profile 7 years oldd????? are you sure??

Yes upgrading to fully pumped system is better than gravity HW, however i would be tempted to replace boiler at same time, if as i suspect its much older than 7 years

How bigs the house, bathrooms how many, how many people lving there, just wondering, if it suits your needs may be more cost effective to change to a combi, although it may not be, just a thought

That's what the home report says - Potterton profile boiler installed approx 7 years ago!

2 adults, 2 young kids, family batroom, en suite.

There were two ranges of Profile: the "e" version produced from 1988 to 2001; and the "eL" version from 2001 to 2006. Presumably the OP has an "eL" version.

I know, its jus its on gravity, so thought maybe they just though of the latest date poss to put in the buyers book, or maybe prev own never bothered 2 upgrade when they has a new boiler

If i was you, and your cold main was good enough i would replace boiler and fit a unvented cylinder, i like these systems, think theyre very good, if one isnt big enough you can link 2 2geather, i'm presuming you can afford it as youve just moved into a 5 bed gaf, so youve got a bit of dough, yes :)

Vaillant do everything boiler, cylinder, controls so no messing about, the system will last you a good 20 years without a problem, probably longer
