Hi all

we ordered our kitchen back in December when there was a big sale on, having taken the measurements before we started to rip out the old kitchen and take walls out, (I know that was a mistake now!).
Having removed a wall and installed an RSJ I didn’t take into account the plasterboard needed for the RSJ, so the new kitchen won’t fit!…. It’s a U-shaped kitchen, is it possible to cut away the back of the units (the service gap) to create a little more space or will that cause issues elsewhere?
Any advice appreciated as always.
Thanks

you can, but your appliances will be protruding and worktop will have to be cut also. the back of your sink and hob will be closer to the wall and may be a nightmare with hot and cold and waste pipes. your extractor will also be sticking further out into the room.

You may be able to loose the extra on the centre run at the corners , usually a little play on the corner posts . Depends how it’s configured.Might need narrower door on one corner unit . Pics would help , difficult to help blind .

Which company did you use? Can you share the design? Could you substitute one of the central units for one 50mm narrower? Might be at your expense, but the cost of one unit might save a lot of hassle chopping units...
