Switched live in the L

Neutrals into the N

Earths I into the earth (middle term)

Loops into a separate connecter.

But...
restrip them first as they have got a load of nicks in them!

But what I really cannot understand is, if you've successfully done this before when there were 2 loop conductors, why on earth can't you do it when there are 3? What difference can it possibly make?

thanks i m a bit clear now with the diagram , i dont have any give in the cables can i tape up over where i see the nicks in the cables ??

Inspect them to see if the copper is damaged. If that's ok you could sleeve them with brown heat-shrink sleeving.

If you can't get them to reach the ternminals on the new fitting you will have to do a joint within the light fitting, with a new piece of cable linking the light and the joint.
