If you're asking this question I think you better get an electrician or someone who understands how to use a multimeter at least.
Have you also checked that when you put back everything as it was the retaining screw was in contact with conductor of each wire and not screwed down on insulation.

Yea checked the screws I even fitted the old stuff back.
