I have a 12 year old 25si boiler.
I have just bought an original new pump for it.

Can I take the 4 hex screws off and install only the motor and electrics, leaving the housing of the old pump?

Thanks
Yanni

It hasn't failed...just want to extend the life of the boiler and hopefully make the boiler a bit more quiet. Thanks.

Cleaning your system will have better results. Is it the the pump that's noisy? If it isn't failing/failed, then the new one won't make much difference.

to answer your question op yes you can just change the head

give some attn to your system, is the pump when you take it out black? if it is you need to cleanse the system and fit a filter on the CH return

The pump is not that noisy actually, the fan was screaming out loud and was an easy replace.

The boiler was installed back in 2001 so I thought if I change the fan and the pump while give it a quick clean on the heat exchange I can't see why it won't last another 10 years!.

I believe in acting early rather than waiting until the pump fails so that I replace it. Thanks for your replies.
