I'm looking at getting somebody to re-roof my property in the next couple of months; it's a mid-terraced 1930's house with a small canopy which will need doing as well.

The tiles are the original Brosley(?) and a couple of the nibs are looking flakey so I thought "right, let's get it felted and retiled".

What potential pitfalls do I need to watch out for?

Many thanks for any heads-ups :D

I would say that marrying into the neighbours on each side will need special attention. Also look out for chimney flashings etc.

Building regs application for thermal efficiency - increase insulation. I find this is a very good way of filtering out good knowledgeable firms from crap ones. A good one mentions this requirement even if not asked about it.

Bonding into the neighbours roof tiles or a joining gutter?

Damage to the neighbours roof

Fire stopping to party walls and eaves soffits
