new shower - brown water!!

Hi - Just had a new shower installed and now every time I turn the taps on, I find that the water is rusty the first few seconds tha I use it. I know that the installer used black iron elbows and new plastic piping. Is this because of the elbows and is it a problem - ie will it rust through??
