New Shower Enclosure Partition Wall

Afternoon all, this may seem like a silly question so maybe I am over thinking it!

I want to put a new enclosure wall in for a shower cubicle, due to the size of the shower the wall will not be supported by the joists (they run parallel to the proposed wall) will noggins install between the joists and then the sole plate fixed to the noggins suffice?
