New Shower fitting issue

I have asked the plumber to fit my shower and said he can't without taking tiles off because he says "he can't fit as the concentric mixer is different to the bar mixer (male / female) fittings are different". He's gone off on holiday so need to know what to do now and what he means by thus message.

what he means by thus

exactly what he said. the plumbing for a concentric mixer is different to a mixer bar.
you could just buy a like for like shower.
But your circumstances are vague so could be anything.

Ok Thanks, ive been and had a look and i can see what he means now. The mrs has decided to stay with what we have. but now i need to remove the flow knob to fasion a new handle as its missing, any idea how this comes off and i can see nothing externally.
