Hi,

We've just installed a new electric shower, replacing an old thermostatic unit, but have run into some issues; mainly low pressure and subsequent lack of warmth. It is a Mira Azora unit, which claims to want at least 0.7bar to run.

The shower runs off a gravity fed tank, which is only a little under 2m above (up in the loft with the hw tank); I don't think this is providing sufficient pressure to the shower.

What are my options here to increase the pressure?

I can rule out raising the tank further, so I think I'm looking at adding a feed from the rising main up there (that feeds the hw tank) or adding in a shower pump.

Any thoughts would be accepted, thanks :)

Connect the shower to the rising main that feeds your cold water storage cistern (tank). Tee off the pipe that connects to the ball valve. An electric shower should NOT be fed by the tank.
