Hi,
We've just had lots of new timber skirting / architraves fitted and we want to paint it mainly with white gloss.
Do we need to treat the scew/nail heads beofre filling and priming?
Someone told me to do the following:
1. Use knotting compund directly on the screw heads and any knots,
2. Prime where the screws/knots are. No need to prime the whole wood
3. Fill the holes (the advice being polyfilla is easier to sand then wood filler).
4. Undercoat all the wood
5. Paint with chosen colour.
Is this advice right to follow? Admittedly I may have got some of it mixed up so hence me wanting to check.
Thanks in advance
