New sockets - from which ring?

Fwiw the circuit our boiler is on also goes to the loft socket and loft light.

It’s really good practice to have many circuits these days. Minimises inconvenience big time

Correct, and especially true if RCD/RCBO's are involved. I Have 14 main circuits, one of which is further divided into a further 10.

In theory, that's true. However, at least as far as my electrical installations have been concerned, over many decades i have experienced almost no significant 'inconveniences' due to having only fairly 'traditional' numbers of circuits, so virtually no inconvenience to 'minimise', "big time" or otherwise.

wow do you live in a stately home harry... 24 circuits in one house, I would hate to see you leccy bill just how much juice are you sucking through that installation. Have you built a replica of Blackpool illuminations and pleasure beach?

Circuits, don't increase bills, my bills are extremely reasonable. As I said - 14 for the house, one of which is dedicated to outdoors, outdoors I have a CU in my garage, supply circuits in the garage, workshop, hut, summerhouse, and several outdoor sockets. All very logical, all very easy to isolate in case of faults, without affecting other sections.

As Harry has said, the number of circuits has nothing to do with the amount of electricity used. I can trump him, since I have about 35 final circuits (across about 8 CUs), but my electricity consumption (hence bills) is probably no more than 'average', at most.
