Hi there I want to put a new bathroom in my house
and need to lay a new underground soil pipe to the manhole
at the end of my garden is there any advice you can give me.
Eddie
Pipe should be laid to falls. 1:40 or 25mm every meter is more than enough.
Pipe should be encased in pea gravel. Only cover half the pipe until building control have had a squint.
Use 110mm plastic its easier to work with.
Use a 90 degree rest bend at the bottom of the soil stack.
The soil stack (SVP) should terminate 900mm above any nearby openable windows.
Try and go straight into the manhole from the bottom of the SVP, building control won't want to see bends unless you fit an inspection chamber on the bend.
Use a balloon grate on the top of the SVP.
Tapping into the existing manhole will depend upon a lot of things - need more info' regards depth, location, construction.
