Hi all

I'm doing my bathroom, and now I've got to the flooring.
Was looking at rubber, but couldn't find quite what I wanted... I'm very fussy.

In a eureka moment I though about wood.
Happened to see a new place open on the way back from wickes, they are selling "Lapacho", it's a gorgeous chocolaty hardwood, 90mm wide, 18mm thick and 600mm length and it's been oiled as opposed to varnish etc. Downside is it's £60 for 1.3m!, as I have a small area to cover, and I've been a tight ar5e for the rest of the project I that I might treat the me & ball & chain .

I currently have a "normal" T&G floor. the size to cover is only 2.3 x 1.5m.

How should I prepare this floor to take the new one?

I presume a cover of hardboard or Ply??

I seem to detect solid wood floors don't look like the thing to do for bathrooms? but I can't abide laminate, and don't really care for Amtico stuff.

Any advice/criticism appreciated.

Hi Wilse

Solids in bathrooms are indeed not recommended. We have access to Lapacho Engineered board Duoplank/Super 6 (21 x 180 = 6mm solid top layer on 15mm water-resistant plywood, see here) in either unfinished or oiled version.
Depending on how much you need and when you need it we might be of help?
