Our trusty old Philco Auto Dry Reverse De-luxe vented tumble dryer is making some strange noises and it seems ready to give up on us. Would like to replace with a similar machine that is unlikely to incinerate! There are just two of us and something similar (and simple) would fill the bill.
Any suggestions most welcome.

Don't know about your philco but I have a bottom of the range logik from currys. 2nd one we have owned. 1st one lasted 10 years before the pcb failed.

I made the mistake of buying an all singing, all dancing 20+ programme AEG condensing heat pump dryer to install in my outside shed. Oh, what it didn’t do! Weighed the clothes and everything. Waste of bloody money because heat pumps don’t work when it’s gets below about 5° which is when we'd needed it. Ended up giving it to my son (he has it indoors) and bought just a 2 programme (hot or warm). cheapo. Just perfect for what we need. Buy dear, buy twice in our case!
