New Vaillant Boiler Making Clicking Noise

Had same problem. Vaillant will come out and tighten nuts on heat exchanger and the noise will stop! They know about this issue. The Vaillant tech told me they are picking up the problem as they go along.
I have a new Vaillant as above which does not fire up first time and clunks three times as the gas valve opens, shuts and opens again and it fires up second attempt. They have told me this is normal so I have submitted formal complaint to the dispute body. I'll never buy another Vaillant. It's been a nightmare since October 2022! Good luck!

Vaillant engineer tightened or loosened bolts and noise gone. Hopefully for good.

I would like to add to this thread…

I’m a council tenant and I had fitters fit me a vaillant
ecotec sustain in August 2024 it was nice… until a
few weeks past. I have the exact same problem as the
original poster had. I even went further and got so
mad at the thing it has dents in it and my neighbour
is wondering who I’m yelling at to; SHUT UP!”
Suffice to say called up vaillant. They were helpful,
they sent a guy round. At first he wasn’t happy that
my road required a parking permit. Secondly he wasn’t
happy that I didn’t go through the council first (if I did
it’d be weeks or months to get it sorted) he did very
stringent tests on the boiler. He gave me the excuses
I have read on here that others have been given.
Even when the boiler is - OFF it makes the noise.
He said its expansion and guess what… when he came
into the kitchen the little evil zombie boiler decided to
be as quiet as a mouse. No noise at all. It did make a
tiny “tap” sound and he said it’s normal. And it’s the
pipes. He suggested to cushion the pipes. So I got
some packaging material and shoved it behind the
pipes. Sounds even worse now. The sound comes
from the boiler itself. It’s a stupid little switch that
doesn’t know if it’s on or off. It does it if heating is
on or off, if taps are on or off, if boiler is on or off.
“CLACK, CLACK, CLACK, CLACK, CLACK” I make
YouTube videos and you can hear this thing in the
background. I think if I damage it enough they’ll
come out sand properly sort it!

I had one the EcoFit Pure installed a month ago and the snapping noise was becoming really annoying. I've just had one of their engineers out who knew exactly what the problem was, loosened some nuts and now it's completely silent for the first time since installation
