I need to change a washer on a kitchen tap. I know what to do but i cannot loosen the nut to get to the washer. I understand there is something that you can buy to loosen such things could anyone tell me the name of it please and where i would be able to buy it. Thanks

adjustable spanner?
Thanks tried that but the whole tap is turning. I've tried gettin my son to hold it but it will not move. I told want to bust it and unfortunately can't afford to get a plumber in to do it for me. Any other ideas?

In that case another adjustable spanner. One to hold the body of the tap (wrap a cloth around it to prevent the spanner scratching the surface) and the other to undo the nut anticlockwise.
