My dishwasher finished a cycle then flashed an error light.
The troubleshoot manual said it was the element or the thermostat.
I had the element checked and it is fine but the thermostat was faulty, therefore I replaced it.
The dishwasher is now, not filling with water.
It lets in a small amount but very little.
The machine will go through the program but won't fill with water, and I switch it off in case the element heating up with no water in it damages the machine.
I have read online that it could be the float mechanism but I can't find it in the machine.
There are only 4 parts inside. The salt compartment, the washer arm, the filter system and the element.
I can't find the float mentioned at all.
I am loathe to bin the machine as it is only 14 mths old and just out of warranty.
Calling out a specialist would probably cost as much as the machine did as we bought it as a special offer, and I reckon it isn't a major problem as everything else seems ok.

The machine is a new world fdw600w.

We had a problem with our dishwasher, some-one in the house decided to clean it out with fairy liquid! after clearing up all the bubbles it wouldn't work...we took every moving part off & eventually pulled it out of it's housing to discover that the inlet hose was squashed so it couldn't fill up. We had obviously pushed it back too far whilst trying to clean up the bubbles!
