i am trying to replace a electric shower with a mixer the cold supply is straight off the pipe supplying cold water to the bath can i do the same with the hot supply as i have a combi boiler and the water pressure seems good however as stated i am new to diy and although im enjoying it i dont think i could handle plumbing it all in then having to start again any suggestions would be gratefully recieved. cheers

Some punctuation would assist the reader to understand what you are saying (difficult to read without punctuation).

From what I understand... yes you can.

Thankyou for your reply. Sorry about the punctuation its not something I am confident with (honestly i know that sounds stupid but its true)

Is the cold water feed to your bath, mains fed or tank fed.
The hot is mains fed through your combi.

When you know what your cold is you can ask a good plumbers merchant to recommend a shower mixer to suit your situation, as you may have differing pressures, which will need balancing through the mixer.

both the hot and cold are mains fed
will the boiler give enough resistance to make the pressure unbalanced
(sorry that is badly written)
cheers

The boiler will reduce the flow slightly but I should think as both mains, not a real problem. I think the shower mixers come with different 'throttle/flow restrictors' inserts that fit in the hot and cold inlets. Each one slightly different for differing pressures. That's why I would ask a good merchant for their advice. Sorry not entirely sure, hopefully some one else will confirm for you. :)
