Could anyone tell me the requirements for the domestic installer scheme as the web site doesn't really explain whats involved ie how long to have been trading and how many jobs they come and look at (minor works or rewires?)
Also how long are all the schemes going to let you get away with being 16th before you have to take the 17th edition?
Any help would be appreciated

Email all of the Schemes and they will no doubt send out full details plus an application form free of charge.

They say you have to be trading for a year I think, but that's rubbish - at the end of the day they want your money!

Give them a call - just make sure you have your insurances in place and two jobs to show - my application ones were a rewire (my house) and an extra socket at a friends

Good luck

As far as I'm aware, you don't need any qualifications to become either a member of a scheme or a quality supervisor for a company. You do need to show competence, have a very good understanding of the regulations that apply to our industry and the work you will be undertaking.
