Nissan Micra - locking failure: Pls help, I cant get in!!

Hi, please can anyone advise me?

I tried to get into my 2003 Micra - no response from the remote lock key fob.
Checked both fobs - lights coming on, so its not fob batteries.
Levered cover off passenger side lock and inserted traditional key, turning key, but still no action.
No sound of any clicking either from pressing button or turning key.

PLEASE does any one have any ideas? Its not as though I can even get in to check if the whole car is kaput!

PS: Had been off road July-Oct as I was strapped for cash, but is (was) running again, and passed MOT with no snags a couple of weeks ago.

Local mechanic came round, turns out the door needed nack ie: a bit of brute force.

But the new battery put on in October has failed - so he's getting a new one under warranty - Winner.

Pleased I found this site though!!
