Fergus Wilson, one of The UK's biggest landlords, has apparently banned his letting agents from renting to blacks, because they make the houses smell of curry. Apparently.

Among the list of others who are banned from his houses are plumbers. Found this quite amusing. Obviously sparks, plasterers, builders and roofers are OK. Not sure why he picked on plumbers.

List of banned tenants includes;

1. Tenants with children under 18. Children over 18 acceptable as co tenants.
2. Only tenants with Rent Guarantee.
3. No single mums no single fathers.
4. No tenants on Housing Benefit.
5. No low income adults.
6. No single adults.
7. No zero hours workers.
8. No Plumbers.
9. No battered wives.
10. No smokers.
11. No tenants with pets.

I think he got ripped off by a plumber and promised himself not to have one as a tenant.

To be accurate, it say "coloured" people.
I suppose this is because it is not black people who eat a lot of curry.

While at first glance, this and the list does look rather objectionable, presumably he is just banning types of people who have caused trouble in the past. Is writing a list for a third party who lets your property any different than just not letting to those people.

This was from last year I think. Or he did a similar thing, I remember reading about plumbers charging too much. So presumably his rent is very low if he disagrees with overcharging?
