Just been asked by a mate to change his current pendent light to a flush fit metal spotlight in his house.

Had a quick look to see if it was main to pendent or switch, its mains to pendent, but i also noticed that there is no CPC in the pendent.

Now i don't want to fit a metal light fitting if no cpc is present, but what is the best way to get a cpc to it?
a)
run a separate cpc cable if possible

b) extend out the cutback cpc's on the pendent side (assuming that that it is connected on the CU side)

or

c) tell him to get a suitably qualified electrician (of which i am not) to replace the non earthed wiring?

Not a) as that would be 4mm minimum.
b) if you can prove the CPC is connected to earth.
c) if it isn't connected.
