I have a five year old Biasi 24 boiler. It has been working fine to present date. Today had to swap radiator and drained down system ready for more work tomorrow. just set boiler to direct hot water only to run a bath and the boiler fan runs when the hot tap is turned but boiler does not fire. After a few seconds the green warning light starts to flash 4 flashes per second and the fan turns itself off. It doesn't lock out by the way just fails to fire. Have not done anything else to boiler and can't find manuals !!! Please help - need hot water !

Fill the heating back up

It won't work without water.

Hi Mogget

Thanks for the response. I haven't turned off the cold inlet into the DHW side of things just drained the radiators (CH) so shouldn't the hot water only settings work ?. Sorry if this sounds dumb.

Thanks
Tony

I'm not familiar with your particular boiler. Most combi boilers use water from the heating system to transfer the heat between the main and dhw heat exchangers. With the heating drained, there's no way of getting heat from A to B, as it were. Your boiler quite rightly identifies this possibly destructive situation, and refuses to light.

questions get more ridiculous on this forum by the day.

Hi Seco Services - Not being a heating engineer/plumber I didn't realise this was such a ridiculous question.

I was just looking for help/advice from knowledgable and helpful people, which I thankfully received from the other forum members and to whom I am very grateful.
