HELP.
I have had my old Nissen Primera 1.6 injection for years and never had a spot of bother with it, until now.

Took it out shoping on Monday, everything was normal. Parked up on the superstore car park.
About an hour later, returned to the car, and it would not start. Almost run the battery down, so went for a cuppa. 30 minutes later went back for another go. Was about to give up when it suddenly burst into life and i managed to get back home, it drove perfect.

Parked in the drive and ever since then, i have only managed to get the car started twice, and each time it's been pure luck after almost killing the battery. Have recharged the battery, but the car will not start again.

I am told that this is an electronic problem, does anyone know which componant has gone faulty?? and how i can test it.

Oh by the way, i now need to disconnect the battery, as whaterver has gone wrong is creating a short and the battery goes flat over night, almost like there has been something left on, EG lights etc. However there is nothing on.

Can anyone help me? please.

You really need to go to a garage who specialise in car electronics
it could be a number of things, like the ECU,,,,,,,
The trouble with electronics these days is that you need the right equipment to check out all the possibilities.
Sorry I cant give you any more information.
Quick Fit

Many thanks quick-fit.

I THINK i may have located the problem to the Alternator shortening out to earth. This was causing the battery to discharge even when the engine was running. Also the short was creating havoc with all the other electrical components, hence nothing was working properly. I will know tomorrow once i get the alternator back and refitted.
