hi all

Just had bathroom fitter in whilst i've been away. and he's moved my radiator pipework and then finished for the day

We have an s-plan, 2 port system and are getting no hot water or heat.

I've loosened off the pump screw, a little water dribbled out but thats it.

any ideas?

is the pump running when heat called for ?
does the boiler fire up ?
is the header tank full ?

need more info.

does the boiler only run for a few mins then cut out ?

is the pipe on bothsides of the pump hot ?

greenstar cuttin in/out, pipes are warm on either side but not hot.

everytime I open up the pump a little air comes out

the systems airlocked.

bleed the pump with the system not running.
have you any bleed points around the cylinder pipework useally
on top of a vertical pipe at the highest point.

if you have bled the pump try putting it on top speed and that can force the air round.

shut the by-pass off temporarily while you shift the air with the advice already given.

Turn the pump speed to maximum for a while to help to shift the air.

See if there are any thumb air vents or auto vents with the screw closed.

I do think that anyone who moves rads etc. has a duty to sort out these minor problems before going home. Why do people employ them?

You should have phoned him and demanded that he comes back to sort it out !

tel me about it agile.

i'm bleeding the air vent next to the cylinder every 3 minutes. there is air escaping from it.

and the boiler keeps cutting in/out

A BG engineer has to post on a plumbing diy forum seeking advice. Goes to show the numpties ****ish gas employ nowadays doesn't it?

Any decent engineer would've fitted his own bathroom too. Or did you want the job done properly not trusting your own handywork. . . .

Just goes to show you really are a muppet mr lsx.
