no heating

can anybody help with my heating?
have a potterton netaheat boiler. no hot water or heat to rads. boiler fires up but for only about 2 mins. told it would be motorised valve problem. disconnected and opened valve to check if this was the problem but boiler still cutting out after a min or so then coming back on after about an hr. can anyone help me?

pump, empty header tank, blocked cold feed.

one of those.

would i be able to hear the pump pump? pump very hot to touch incoming and out going pipes hot as well. cheers for your help

The pump is hot because its powered but not turning and being cooled by the water flow.

See the FAQ for details of freeing a stuck pump or just change it for a new one.
