We've just refitted a radiator and switched the heating on but have no heating and now no hot water either...there were a few noises coming from the boiler, whining and also the sound of occasional bubbling (could this be air?). We tried to add a bit of water to the system but still no go - do we need to add more? And how do we know how much to add? The pump / low pressure symbol flashed up each time we tried and it doesn't look like the pilot light is firing but not sure...any ideas?

We have a baxi combi boiler 105e

Fill the system to 1.5 bar and bleed rads....then check system pressure and refill to 1.5 bar.......check auto air vent open (top of boiler) and finally unscrew the plug in the pump a bit with a rag underneath to catch any water...this may free any air in pump

If this fails use a 6lb lump hammer and hit twice hard on partners head for removing rad........

Cold pressure should be 1 - 1.5
Bleed all rads until no air comes out.
Try again and keep an eye on the pressure. The pressure must stay below 2.5 at all times.
