No hot water with new installed Alpha etec plus 33kw boiler unless CH is put on for at least 15mins!

8mbar, normally we would expect to see a minimum of 18mbar. Why didn't the Alpha eng. leave warning notice paperwork and explain the situation?

You may need to find another gas installer to sort this out...he's clearly an idiot.
If he kicks off give Gas-Safe a ring an request an inspection...tell them you've no hot water.

What was the previous boiler make and model...it's possible it was smaller Kw rating and the burner ignited at very low gas pressures.

I can only think the boiler is actually igniting with a hot water demand but as the burner ramps up to maximum the burner then extinguishes due to the low incoming pressure although many modern boilers can cope.

Thanks. I’ll try and get another gas installer to come have a look. Very frustrated that installer never checked the situation before boiler was installed.

if you are lucky it might be a faulty meter regulator, but you will need a gas engineer to check it for you

It may sounds like a very silly quiestion, but we have switched gas and electricity supplier just before the new boiler was put in, from SSE to EDF. Assumed regardless of which provider we are with, we should get the same gas supply? (Just thinking of phone provider as an example, vofaphone performs better than say 02.)

No shouldn't make any difference...the meter outlet pressure should be within tolerance regardless of meter/supplier.
