I have a Halstead Hero 75 Boiler. It's not a combi boiler as I have a Honeywell tank thing in an upstairs cupboard. Sorry if this sounds a bit vague but Mr Cinnamon would deal with all this stuff and he's buggered off!
Whilst hoovering I managed to fuse the whole house (no idea how) and a neighbour helped me sort out the electrics but the only thing not working was the boiler. A sparky came and replaced the timer control. Not sure what I had before but I now have a Towerchron QE1 controller.
The CH works fine but the hot water doesn't work at all - either when the CH is on or off. From reading the topics on here I'm wondering if either the timer has been wired in incorrectly or the fusing has done something to the valve.
There is an AB with a box above it which has a spring in it. the topics on here suggest that this means it is a motorised opening and spring shut valve. It appears to open for the CH but not for the hot water.
Is there anything I could try before I call in someone (I'm skint) but if I do need a professional - do I need a sparky or a plumber - this seems to fall in both categories. I can't afford to pay the call out charges for both!
