Thanks to everyone who has replied to my various posts since February (Adam151, Johnd, Ban-all-sheds, Crafty1289, Job-n-knock, Qudelec and others) relating to the design & installation of the wiring in my new kitchen extension at home. There were about 8 posts in total, covering topics such as CU location, energy efficient lights, the correct way to connect fixed appliances, switch heights, ovens & heat resistant cable, neons in DP switches, insulation around halogen lighting & its distance from surfaces.

So just to prove that diy-ers are still able to carry out electrical work despite Part P, my LABC carried out the electrical test yesterday and everything checked out OK and I didn’t have to correct/modify anything. So cheers guys, I couldn’t have done it without you.

:) :) :) we love a happy ending! Well done! :D :D :D
