No such thing as a stupid question? let me have a try - boiler pressure drop when in use

My boiler pressure is at 1.5 when there is nothing going on... but say someone switched hot water on it drops to 1.25, then when they switch it off it goes back to 1.5.... is it meant to work like this?

Probably an Ideal.

They are not really meant to work at all!

Probably because the gauge or sensor is connected before the pump so will register a drop when the pump is running.
