Hello.

I recently installed a new mixer tap with shower attached.

Cold water comes out when I turn the cold tap, and cold water also comes out of the shower attachment.

The problem is that nothing comes out when I turn the hot tap.

I've confirmed that water is coming up to the tap through the hot water pipe.

This is the type of cartridge inside the hot tap at the moment.

Is it a matter of not enough water pressure?

The water is coming from a loft tank.

Is there a different cartridge I could get that would work better?

Thank you.

"If you have tank fed hot and mains cold, It will never work"

Why is that and what can I do to make it work?

To get 1 bar pressure from a storage tank you would need 35 feet of Head.

There are many of them bath shower mixers for sale on the internet, they go by different names with different kits, different prices but the same generic sbm.some are advertised from UK sales outlets and some from China :cautious:.

quote from one advertiser at least they have some info to offer.
This product is suitable for the following systems:

  • Mains fed
  • Combi boilers
This product is unsuitable for the following installations:

  • Low pressure
  • Pumped
  • Most gravity fed systems (unless you have a pump installed)

Both hot and cold are from loft tank

So I need a pump?

But would a low pressure mixer give me high pressure shower?
