Hello,

Woke up this morning and there's no water (hot or cold) coming from the sink, or the bath taps. There was just enough hot water in the shower for a very quick shower and now that's run out too.

Rang the water company and they're not aware of any problems in the area. Ran the kitchen tap (downstairs) and both hot and cold seem okay, though only had time to run them for 5 seconds as was already late for work. Help!

Should have run hot for longer - then it would have run out  . Probably a small matter of ballvalve in main feed tank not working/shut/ stuck. . You might have to be agile to get @ it to have a look, but there are many people here to help when you return from work .Some are running plumbing co.`s in London

Thanks Nige F.

I'm new to the house and to DIY so am not sure what that means. What is a main feed tank? And how can I tell if there's something wrong with the ball valve?

Apologies for the very basic questions but I'm at a very basic level.

You gotta find it first...in the roof maybe if it`s a house ..or in an airing cupboard in a flat. Have a look @ the FAQ`s or stickys on the site
