For a couple off days, we have been hearing a couple of very loud clunks coming form the boiler area, so last night i had a quick look and think that i have found the problem, It seems to be coming from the three way diverter valve, thats positioned under the boiler, and only when the HW is turned OFF. I will be calling the plumber that fitted it last year to take a look, but if you chaos have any ideas that would be great.............. the unit is a HONEYWELL SUNDIAL Y PLAN 3 position diverter valve, and i will put the pics up as soon as i can get onto the photbucket site and post em!!!!

Pics of the offending item........

There is also a small lever underneath on the same side as the flex inlet, what does it do ?

Your plumber might be able to replace the head of the unit (the electric part), it sounds like knackered motor/cogs.

the noise is best described as two big clunks, and it rattles the pipework well too........thanks

reading thru your post again, is the pipework clipped and secure ?.

I think this is a common problem to the V4073 honeywell valve, but I may be wrong.

pipe work is secrue, and there is little movement, or potential to rattle against walls or other pipes etc etc,

Plumber is coming next week, to sort it,How long would you proffesional chaps on here take to swap the head, or valve or both.............and also i have asked him to price up and get the info on a MAGNACLEAN. He has heard of them but never fitted one, are there any hints or tips that i can pass on about fitting them..............

it comes with instructions and should be bread and butter for anyone worth their salt.

hes a good plumber as far as i can tell, and he mad a great job off our new boiler install, so i dont have any doubts, he will sort it , thanks mate
