I have a Potterton powermax HE, I belive this is a condensing boiler. When we turn on our hot taps we get a trapped air sound coming from the boiler, after a while it will stop but its very loud and very annoying.
Any Ideas anyone?

Is this a new sound?

Does it follow some work on the boiler or heating?

How long ago was it installed?

Is there an air bleed nipple on the top of the heat exchanger/combustion chamber?

All these and more are questions I need answers to if I am to have any chance of helping you!

Tony

Yes it does follow some work, I fitted two towel radiators in each of our bathrooms.
It was installed in Jan 04, I looked at the potterton website and it does mention a bleed nipple, I followed there instructions but it didn't seem to make a difference.
I think I wiil try it agian though!

If you have any ideas i would be grateul.

Thanks jason.
