My eight year old uPVC windows have started making whistling/piping noises when the wind is in certain directions.

I have tried isolating gaps/seals etc but haven't found the problem.
Any ideas most gratefully received, thanks.

check all the perimeter seals around the frames and the sealant is in tact. Also check the gaskets around the glazing are in tact, check the the opening leafs are closing properly and flush. And finally - do you have trickle vents installed? they can sometimes make a bit of a noise when it is very windy!

Thank you. I found two areas where the sealant had come away from the frame, these areas coinciding with where the noise came from.

These have now been re-sealed and so far there is no noise.....having said that, the wind has also dropped, but I'm confident that the problem has ben solved! Cheers.
